Volunteers are the foundation of our rescue. The more help we have, the more we can accomplish. We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities available, from washing dogs to web design and everything in between, including some fun and new friends along the way.
Below you can find a list of volunteer opportunities and descriptions. Please let us know what you may be interested in or if you have a special skill. MN PAWS and all of its potential adoptee dogs greatly appreciate all the time and effort of all our volunteers. Without our volunteers nothing is possible, but with them nothing is impossible!
Volunteer opportunities
Intake support team:
When multiple animals arrive from one of our targeted shelters volunteers aid in bathing, medicating, monitoring the dogs, general clean up, completing forms and assisting with veterinary exams. Additionally prior to a scheduled intake we may need volunteers to coordinate foster families and pick up times.
Transportation:
Long distance transport volunteer drivers are sometimes needed for these day long road trips. All of our available pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Volunteers are needed to transport dogs to and from their scheduled spay and neuter surgeries. These times are scheduled on weekdays during the day. Transportation assistance is also needed for vet visits, running errands, delivering supplies to foster homes, and picking up or dropping off donations etc.
Adoption Coordinator:
Adoption coordinators are needed to help us finalize adoptions. This position involves bringing a pet to their new homes, completing a home check and reviewing/signing of adoption contract with the adopter.
Foster home and adoption support team:
Members of our foster support team, work as a liaison between the foster homes, directors and potential adopters by reviewing adoption applications, assisting with interviews and helping new foster families adjust to the foster program. Additionally members of our foster/adoption support team may serve as contacts for foster families if they have questions or concerns with their foster dog.
Cleaning and organizing supplies:
We always need help with general cleaning of crates, laundry and organizing supplies, paperwork, preparing foster and adoption packets, etc.
Administrative Support:
Provide support by answering e-mails, making phone calls, assist with coordinating adoptions and foster homes, as well as general follow up when needed.
Specialized Skills:
Do you have experience with, photography, dog behavior/training, grooming, computer and web design skills, vet tech training, or other specialized skills? If so, we always need additional help in these areas as well.
